Boosting Digital Strategies for Doctoral Training in Social Sciences and Humanities in Tunisia: the mission of the RAQMYAT project
Enhancing the doctoral training of Tunisian students in social sciences and humanities is currently a strategic concern for the partner institutions in Tunisia. The Tunisian context is marked by challenges in the professional integration of doctoral students, limited transdisciplinary studies, which restrict their capacity to work on the multiple and complex issues of the Tunisian transition, as well as uneven development of digital practices in pedagogy. Addressing the modernization of doctoral programs in social sciences and humanities through the development of digital practices is RAQMYAT’s project response to these issues.
The project RAQMYAT – “Stratégies numériques pour la formation doctorale en sciences humaines et sociales en Tunisie” (Digital Strategies for Doctoral Training in Social Sciences and Humanities in Tunisia) aims to address these challenges by enhancing doctoral training in social sciences and humanities in Tunisia through the development of digital strategies. Scheduled to conclude on October 31, 2024, the project is poised to contribute to the modernization of doctoral programs in Tunisia..
The project’s general objective is to contribute to the emergence of a new model of doctoral training in social sciences and humanities, based on the existing legal framework in Tunisia. The methodological approach focuses on harnessing digital practices to support the research training of Tunisian doctoral students in various disciplines of social sciences and humanities, as well as the development of their cross-disciplinary skills for professional integration. The activities will involve close collaboration with stakeholders, including doctoral students, trainers, university and institution leaders, directors of doctoral schools, sectoral doctoral committees, and research laboratories.
RAQMYAT aligns with several national priorities of the Erasmus+ program for Tunisia, particularly in the area of curriculum development, with a specific focus on doctoral training in social sciences and humanities. The project aims to modernize teaching methods through the use of new technologies.
The project aims to create a transformative impact on doctoral training in social sciences and humanities in Tunisia, promoting transdisciplinary approaches, enhancing digital competencies, and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders. By leveraging the power of digital strategies, this project will pave the way for a new era of doctoral education that aligns with Tunisia’s evolving needs and aspirations.
