The RAQMYAT project “Digital strategies for doctoral training in the humanities and social sciences in Tunisia” aims to contribute to the emergence of a new model of doctoral training of excellence in the humanities and social sciences in Tunisia, focusing on the digital dimension as a crucial aspect of improving doctoral education. As part of this objective, we are pleased to highlight the work of UNIMED (Union of Mediterranean Universities) and the opportunities it offers to doctoral students.
UNIMED is a network of higher education and research institutions active in promoting academic cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and the Western Balkans. UNIMED works on several themes, as far as universities and regional priorities allow. It runs projects in a variety of areas, ranging from governance issues at university level to the integration of refugees, sustainable development, digitization, employability and intercultural dialogue, promoting mobility in the Euro-Mediterranean region. It works to strengthen links between universities in the Mediterranean region, encouraging academic exchanges and collaboration in research and higher education.
In addition, it maintains a close dialogue with academic experts within the framework of its thematic sub-networks and with its institutional partners. All its activities aim to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation.
Doctoral students interested in visiting the UNIMED website can find out about the opportunities on offer, publications, news and much more. It is a resource for young researchers wishing to engage in university cooperation programs and benefit from Mediterranean research networks.
Recently, UNIMED launched a series of podcasts entitled “Mediterranean Intangible Heritage Soundscape” which can be accessed here for those interested.
