The Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) and UNIMED offer short-term scholarships of 2 or 3 months in France for young researchers from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and Syria, affiliated with one of the 164 UNIMED member universities.

This research stay is designed to allow researchers to conduct research studies in France: field surveys, library work, and archives.

This call is part of the Atlas short-term postdoctoral mobility program offered by the FMSH and its partners.

The application deadline is March 18, 2024.

Financial Details The laureates will receive financial support of €1,700 per month. This financial contribution is intended to cover expenses such as transportation and accommodation costs. In addition, the FMSH provides scientific and logistical assistance (workspace, help finding accommodation, letters to libraries, etc.).

Eligibility Criteria Nationality: this program is open to researchers from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and Syria, affiliated with one of the 164 UNIMED member universities.

Academic Degree: candidates must have obtained their doctorate and defended their thesis from 2018 onwards. There is no age limit.

Theme: candidates must be involved in research in the social sciences and humanities (SSH) or at the intersection of SSH and other sciences.

Language: French or English, depending on the project.

French Host Institution: before submitting their application, candidates must find a French research institution to host them during their stay. Candidates must provide a letter from the host institution addressed to the FMSH and UNIMED expressing the institution’s willingness to host the candidate during the scholarship period and explaining the working conditions offered.
